The DAA Steering Group has reviewed its strategy, in consultation with members – through an event that took place in May and through a survey of members. The consensus was that people see the DAA’s prime purpose as being to link organisations together – to create opportunities for collaboration and partnerships, locally, regionally and nationally. This is so that people can share learning through ‘communities of practice’ and also develop joint work or proposals. To this end we will be changing our website later this year to enable people more easily to find others with shared interests.
The Steering Group also thought that our national collaborative work could have most impact by being focused on a theme of Disabled People Leadership in Public Life as disabled people’s leadership across a range of sectors would add value to all the other collaborative work going on.
