Steering group member Charlie Willis, from Independent Lives, has written an article which you may be interested to read on Inclusion-matters. The article discusses the importance of empowering disabled people, and coincided with the theme for this year’s International Day of Disabled People which was celebrated on December 3rd 2015. In the article Charlie talks about his own experience as a disabled person and how important having the right to make decisions is to him on both a person and professional level. Charlie goes on to discuss the role that accessibility to services and, crucially, opportunities plays in ensuring this empowerment.
