Event: The UN Convention for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities periodic examination – List of Issues (for England and Wales)
Date: 3 May 2017, 11:00-14:30
Address: Caxton House, Tothill Street, London, SW1H 9NA.
The UK is in the process of having its first periodic examination of the UN Convention for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). Conducted by the UN Committee for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (the Committee), the examination will consider the UK’s progress towards full implementation of the Convention.
The Office for Disability Issues have asked us to once more share information about their upcoming event about the UK’s periodic examination of the UNCRPD. This is the second in a series of events, and will focus on the list of issues published by the Committee. The list can be found at the following link: UK UNCRPD list of issues.
The event will provide:
- an updated overview of the examination timescales and work done so far, and
- the opportunity to discuss the UN’s list of issues with a range of government officials.
Places are provided on a ‘first come’ basis, and will be limited to one attendee per organisation (and a support worker if requested).
If you are interested in attending this event, please do register your interest by the 14th April – please be aware that places are already filling up fast!
