Today is an emotive day, marking Holocaust Day in remembrance of the Holocaust of the second world war. The message for today is one that is still relevant for us today: ‘Don’t stand by’. It’s a plea to all to not stand by and let hate crimes thrive. Today we should celebrate those who speak out about disability hate crime.
With this in mind, the DAA would like to congratulate a group of disabled people who have spoken openly about their own experiences of disability hate crimes. Please do take the time to watch this fantastic and insightful video about how disability hate crimes impact real people.
This video is also available on our Disability Awareness resource page, where you can find more links about Disability Hate Crime amongst other things.
