Alliance members – A Call for Action!
Please let us know if you are celebrating International Day of Disabled People
The International Day of Disabled People is held annually on 3rd December and is a day to celebrate and acknowledge the experience and capabilities of disabled people. It offers a great opportunity for a world wide focus on what is being done, and can be done, to support greater inclusion and equality for disabled people. The theme for this year is “Break barriers, open doors: for an inclusive society for all”.
We would love to know if you are planning an event – to celebrate and promote the day – and to showcase your own work and achievements.
We can share your ideas with the rest of the Alliance – members may be interested in joining in or want to do something similar themselves.
We know, for example, that Alliance member ‘Disability North’ will be working in partnership with The Sage Gateshead to host a series of workshops and talks on a variety of topics around the theme of inclusion, and in the evening there will be celebratory performances by disabled people and disability inclusive groups. They will also have a host of great speakers throughout the day. You can find more information by clicking on the following link International Day of Disabled People 2013
So please do share your ideas with us, so that we can share them with others. You can do this via the Contact Us page.
